I decided to add this page to my website as I love eating out and finding somewhere really good to eat is becoming really hard! It seems like locally owned pubs and restaurants are being squeezed out of the market by Microwave meal type multiple chains who don't really excel at much!
What I look for in a restaurant or pub is fast, friendly, efficient service, great food and lots of it and value for money! Location with a great view also adds that certain something too!
What i can't stand are restaurants who give you tiny portions and plates that look more like artwork than a meal!

Here are some excellent examples of  restaurants and pubs that are truly amazing:

The Red Lion,Low Causeway Culross Fife KY12 8HN
Tel 01383 880225.
The Red Lion is set in the beautiful historic village of Culross which is appx 3-4 miles from Kincardine Bridge.A friend recommended me to go there and its only about two mins from where I live so I gave it a try on the following monday and was there again on the tuesday and have been back almost every week since! Yes it's that good!
What makes it so good? Well lots of things, the food is amazing, the menu is very varied and should suit all tastes. The staff are very friendly and informal and quick and efficient! The pub itself is really nicely decorated with hand painted ceilings by a local artist and the prices are extremely reasonable!!! A three course meal including a choice of starters, a huge steak and a really good sweet costs just £23!!! I have told loads of people to go there for a meal and everyone I've taken have said they loved it!
It's always a good idea to book a table as this place is very popular and no wonder!
It defintely deserves recommendation!

The Bombay Brasserie,Unit 1,Block 1,Turnstone Road,Dunfermline Fife KY11 8JZ.
Tel 01383 623323.
This restaurant has recently become my favourite Indian restaurant and serves amazing food and has a nice modern look about it. The service is fast and efficient and the food is delicious!
We do a regular curryoke night on the first thursday of every month and details can be found on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/thebouncycastlemanscotland. The menu is huge and their sauce they give you with some of the starters is amazing!
This restaurant won an award in the British Curry awards and it's easy to see why!
I love going there and thoroughly recommend it.

The Logierait Inn,Logierait,Perthshire.
Tel 01796 482 423
The Logierait Inn can be found by coming off the A9 at Ballinluig and heading towards Aberfeldy.
This is a really beautiful part of Scotland where I grew up as a child so I know it well.
The Logierait Inn has recently been refurbished and modernised and is set in a stunning location on the banks of the river tay.The interior of the restaurant is a mix of modern styling with some classic features like traditional stone walls and looks really nice. The food and friendly service are really good and I always enjoy going there! They have a varied menu and it is always advisable to book.
The prices are very reasonable and I highly recommend going there for something to eat.

The opening hours are wed,thu and fri from 5pm and sat and sun from 12.30pm. I wish their hours were a bit longer as I have passed several times on my way to my mums and they've been closed. It is always advisable to book and there is a car park behind the Inn with lots of space.

The Ailean Chraggan Hotel,Weem By Aberfeldy.PH15 2LD
Tel 01887 820 346

www.aileanchraggan.co.uk
The Ailean Chraggan was the site of my first ever disco when i was just 14 years old!
It still has the same owners 37 years later and the food and reputation hasn't changed in all these years! That has to be a record!
The food here is second to none as are the views out over poplar avenue looking across the valley towards General Wade's bridge and Aberfeldy.
If you like a nice big juicy tender steak or seafood you will really love this place. The menu is very varied and the service is very friendly, fast and efficient.
I would always recommend booking as this restuaurant with pub and hotel is very popular especially in the summer!

The Rail Bridge Bistro,4 Newhalls Rd.South Queensferry,EH30 9TA.
Tel 0131 331 1996.
I have been going to the Rail Bridge Inn for a number of years now and I have to say it is a really amazing place to go for a meal. The food is really high quality and it's not done in a rush so do expect to wait a wee while for it. But believe me it's worth the wait! As the sign on the wall says "we don't do fast food.we do good food as fast as we can"
The location of the restaurant certainly has to be one of it's strongest plus points with amazing views out over the river forth and right between the Iconic Forth Rail Bridge and The Forth Road Bridge. This was obviously not lost on the buildings architect who has made huge windows all the way along the front of the restaurant to maximise the views!
The interior of the restaurant is all about the rail bridge theme with tables and chairs made from railway sleepers and pictures all over the walls showing the construction of the bridges and also lots of facts and figures! There is even a model railway with a train that goes back and forth above your head on a model sized version of the Forth Rail Bridge!
The theme of this restaurant is so good and with a log burning stove with huge fireplace and nice comfy couches where you can relax before and after your meal it ticks all my boxes!
It's a little bit expensive,but I would say it's worth every penny!
